Salwar kameez is traditional dress attire by women in South and Central part of Asia. Salwar kameez dates back to the 12th century since of Islamic or the Iranian era which was then followed by the Mughal Empire in the region now called as India and Pakistan. Salwar Kameez is very popular as it’s comfortable to wear in day to day casual wear and also in weddings, functions and ceremonies. There is a vast variety of dresses and outfits available for a woman to choose and get dressed up in both for regular as well as occasional wears, but the grace and elegance of salwar kameez stands untouched.
Salwar Kameez is being made with various fabrics like Georgette salwar kameez, chiffon salwar kameez, net salwar kameez, satin salwar kameez, cotton salwar kameez, silk salwar kameez and other fabrics including the latest trend of fusion fabrics which is mix of the above and synthetic fabric. Salwar:
Salwars look like loose pajamas just similar like trousers. Their bottom is usually kept quite narrow as compared to the top that is broad. In salwars, the bottom is kept wide that slopes down forming a conical shape to the ankles.
Kameez:
Also known as kurta this is the top in the set of salwar kameez. This knee length shirt is also looked at as the tunic that is worn above a salwar or a churidar pajami.
Dupatta:
Moving to the last and another core creation in the set of salwar kameez we have the dupatta. This is a long shawl or scarf which is either kept plain or designer and is carried around the neck or over head.
